BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Uggist (pronounced druggist) whose real name is Rob is a drum and bass producer and DJ hailing from Charlotte, NC. The Dr. Uggist brand is about medicating through music therapy. Rob found music after needing a creative outlet in life. After going to school for a long time to get a doctorate in pharmacy with a couple of masters degrees it was time to find a creative outlet that he had never had as an adult. After spending time doing some research in genetic oncology and synthetic data, on top of jiu jitsu training and working in the pharmacy world, there was a realization that these weren’t the outlets that connected with him at heart. Enter music production. Rob grew up playing guitar, bass, and cello and decided it was time to get back into music. Drum and Bass was the path forward as he has been a supporter of the genre for over two decades after first discovering LTJ Bukem in the early 2000s. Now he wants to just create something to give people a little bit of happiness… just a little bit of the medicine they need.
